In the book Chronometer Makers of the World by Tony Mercer, Victor Kullberg was described as one of the most brilliant and prolific makers of chronometers and movements during the 19th -20th century.

He was trained by the Swedish chronometer maker Victor Soderburg in Stockholm in 1840 and emigrated to London in 1851, having moved to his permanent address at 105 Liverpool Road, N1, by 1870. Kullberg was the son of Johan Kullberg (1800-1876) and Hedvig Christina Ahlström (1801-1840), and from 1840 he was trained as a watchmaker by the local watch and chronometer manufacturer Victor Söderberg.

The chronometer is in good condition. Victor Kullberg (1824–1890) was born in Visby on the Island of Gotland, Sweden. He was trained by the Swedish chronometer maker Victor Soderburg in Stockholm in 1840 and emigrated to London in 1851, having moved to his permanent address at 105 Liverpool Road, N1, by 1870.

Kullberg movements can be identified by the position of the winding arbor (winding key post) as Kullberg used a reverse fusee. If you look at my chronometer movement pictures, you'll note that if the balance wheel is closest to you, the winding arbor is on the left on both the Bliss & Creighton and the John Bliss & Son, while it is on the right on the John Bliss & Co. instrument.

While they both share the same root word chrono, a chronometer and  13 Dec 2015 Chronograph watches (do not mix them up with chronometer!) can measure time intervals.
