Mackmyra "Grönt Te" is a Swedish single malt whisky that was finally stored in a freshly saturated ex-Oloroso barrel. The barrel was saturated with a mixture of Oloroso wine and the leaves of a vintage green tea from Japan. The result is a Swedish single malt whisky that has been finished in a newly saturated Ex-Oloroso casks. The most recent creation to come out of this rather magical Mackmyra whisky factory is inspired by Angela D’Orazio’s love of travel.

Mackmyra’s 2020 seasonal range release ‘Grönt Te’ is most certainly one such new ‘first’. The world’s first green tea (grönt te) matured whisky. Following on from 2019’s Appelblom which The Dramble reviewed favourably , Grönt te is being promoted as having been inspired by Master Blender Angela D’Orazio’s passion for ‘experiencing new cultures’.
